Interesting game theory application

Bruce Bueno de Mesquita predicts Iran’s future at TED (if you don’t know TED look it up). Very cool, and I like that PoliSci people are getting more rigorous. My only quibble with his presentation is when, make the case for his accuracy, he says “I got it 93% of the time when the experts got it wrong”. Well, did you also get it right when they did?

  1. Are you familiar with EconTalk? It is a weekly podcast in which economist Russ Roberts interviews people about economic issues. It has a very strong libertarian bent, but it is often interesting.

Bruce Bueno de Mesquita has been interviewed several times:

In the most recent one (from last year), he talk about Iran. He is very big on mutual nuclear deterrence as a way of ensuring peace.
